  • Work closely with the engineering team to iteratively develop design sketches and 3D CAD models, ensuring each iteration meets evolving customers’ and technical requirements.
  • Produce detailed 2D drawings in AutoCAD, integrating feedback and maintaining strict version control to support team velocity and ensure product integrity.
  • Create and manage BOMs, verify incoming materials, and conduct systematic inventory checks while maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of design components and in-house stock.
  • Maintain clear communication with cross-functional teams and customers by applying a zero-inbox policy, ensuring all queries are promptly addressed and tracked into our project management framework and Kanban board with accuracy and clarity.
  • Support function and fitment tests during fabrication, conduct pre-delivery inspections on behalf of customers, and identify delivery inefficiencies to propose data-driven improvements.

  • Prepare and manage tender documentation by drafting Bills of Quantities (BOQs), Conditions of Contract, and tender submissions to ensure competitive, compliant, and transparent procurement processes.
  • Support tender evaluation and procurement by conducting tender analysis, benchmarking, and contractor pre-qualification, reviewing quotations, and comparing bids to identify reliable and cost-effective partners in line with company procurement requirements.
  • Develop and monitor project cost plans by preparing estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections, updating cost reports, and tracking expenditures against budgets to provide accurate financial forecasts, early warnings, and mitigation proposals.
  • Conduct site walks and measurements with project teams to verify progress, validate contractor claims, and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and regulations.
  • Manage post-contract administration by preparing interim valuations, variation orders, and final accounts, assessing design or site changes, and advising on cost implications, extensions of time (EOT), and claims in accordance with contract conditions.

A day in the life at Seiko...

  • Strategize and Innovate: You will spearhead strategic sourcing activities by conducting comprehensive market research and preparing vendor category and spend analysis reports. You will proactively liaise with key stakeholders to refine and develop forward-thinking sourcing proposals.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: You will manage complex procurement operations, clarifying product specifications, cost estimations, and project logistics. You will meticulously monitor procurement budgets and take decisive action to manage non-conformities in delivery schedules and products.
  • Master Vendor Relations & Contracts: You will proactively develop new vendor relationships and oversee the entire evaluation process—from preparing bid solicitations and reviewing submissions to drafting comprehensive contracts for management approval. You will evaluate vendor performance to propose data-driven recommendations for future business dealings.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Utilizing your unique blend of engineering and procurement expertise, you will collaborate across departments to elevate collective capabilities.

A strategic negotiator – ou possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage vendor relationships effectively. You confidently navigate complex bid evaluations and secure the best outcomes for the organization.

A financial optimizer – You are adept at financial budgeting, financial planning, and cost estimation. You consistently monitor procurement performance and expenditures to maximize project ROI without compromising quality.

A technical bridge – With a STEM background and experience in production or design, you expertly interpret material specifications and oversee material inspections, translating complex engineering needs into actionable procurement realities.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or any relevant STEM field.
  • Experience in production and/or design is highly advantageous, allowing you to accurately assess technical procurement needs.
  • Proven skills in contract development and management, financial budgeting and market research.
  • Must be fluent in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin to effectively negotiate and coordinate with diverse external parties.
  • Must possess a valid driving license and own transport. Comfortable working in a Hybrid setup.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
